Giving Back

While I was living in Newport, my mom gave me a bag full of imperishable food items. She said that I should keep it in case I ever ran into someone who was hungry. It sat in my trunk for nearly three months, but one day there was a family outside of my work asking for money. I was so glad to provide them with a meal. When we moved to LA,  Chad and I decided to follow my mom's advice.  We made eight care packages one weekend and, unlike Newport, they were all gone in only two days! Now, we try to go to the 99 cent store or Smart & Final at least once a month to stock up on food items.

It is such a great feeling to directly affect the life of another human being. They are so appreciative for a little food. No matter where we live, everyone is sure to run into someone on the side of the road begging, what if next time instead of ignoring them or saying "No, sorry," we could offer them a bag of food?
